Capitol City Opera Company’s Opera Outreach for Children Program Raises Over $4,000 at Our First Annual Education Fundraiser

On October 26, 2019, Capitol City Opera Company’s (CCOC) Opera Outreach for Children program hosted their first-ever education fundraiser concert in Sandy Springs, GA, at the Highpoint Episcopal Community Church. The princess and pirate themed concert featured an online silent auction, face painting, pictures withdifferent Disney charactersfrom Southern Belle Princessesand the Cosplay Volunteers of Atlanta, a catered dinner by Sweet E’s, and a performance filled with Disney classics and sing-a-longs. The concert fundraiser raised over $4,300 for music education programming.

During the dinner performance, guests and families were entertained by the CCOC’s singers who delivered fun, beautiful, and often quite whimsical renditions of favorite Disney songs. “The performance highlight was when the children took the stage to sing ‘Let It Go’ with the cast,” shared CCOC education director, Elexa Bancroft. As a result of the success of the Princess and Pirate Concert Fundraiser, CCOC is planning an encore performance this spring.
